Super Bass, Stereo Hearts and a Party Rock Anthem

The countdown is on. Four days until the St. George Marathon. That means it's time to update the iPod so there's more than two hours of songs on there. A sub-2 hour marathon might be inevitable, but it won't be set by me. Shocking, I know.

I figure if I can't run, I'll get ready to run. I shot an email to my doctor this morning to see if there is anything else I can do to help speed things along with my hip since the only times it hurts now is when I first get up in the morning and the Celebrex has worn off or when I try to run. Until I get his response, I will distract myself with music.

Last week I got an email of the top ten workout songs for September from Chris at RunHundred.com and was pretty excited. Perfect timing for updating my iPod. And I'm letting you in on the list too:

Pitbull, Ne-Yo, Afrojack & Nayer - Give Me Everything (Sidney Samson Remix) - 129 BPM

Nicki Minaj - Super Bass - 128 BPM

Switchfoot - Dark Horses - 83 BPM

Gym Class Heroes & Adam Levine - Stereo Hearts - 90 BPM

Lady GaGa - Edge Of Glory (Bare Noize Remix) - 140 BPM

Pitbull & Marc Anthony - Rain Over Me - 128 BPM

Nadia Ali, Alex Kenji & Starkillers - Pressure (Alesso Radio Edit) - 129 BPM

T.I. & B.o.B. - We Don't Get Down Like Y'all - 92 BPM

LMFAO, GoonRock & Lauren Bennett - Party Rock Anthem (Russ Chimes Remix) - 129 BPM

Alexandra Stan - Mr. Saxobeat - 129 BPM

You can listen to clips of the songs at RunHundred.com. You can also subscribe to the web site, and get (for free) weekly updates and the monthly top 10 list with each song's BPM (beats per minute) is listed. There are also links to buy them on Amazon.com and iTunes.

Before you wander over to Run Hundred though, tell me what YOUR favorite running song is right now.

wooo hoo! You'll get that sub-2! So funny you posted this because I just posted last night that I'm obsessed with stereo hearts (and I'm hoping it'll be one of the songs to get me a sub-2 also for my half on sunday)

Going to listen your playlist, thanks for sharing. Now my favorite song is "Shot in the dark" by Within Temptation (gothic rock).
Good luck on the marathon.

Thanks for sharing the music selections. I haven't heard any of those. I'm afraid that shows that I am old. My favorite song that gets me going lately is Surf Wax America by Weezer.
Good luck this weekend! Give me a text to let me know how it goes!

cool! i need to get new music for my ipod too...like pronto. every time i run lately its like slow stuff is always coming on. ummm weird because it is my "running" ipod and i thought i only put fast songs on it. thinking of you friend and hoping that hip cooperates ASAP! i almost threw up when i saw that "4" and now it has changed to 3...eeeeek.

my favorite song for a long time will probably be "give me everything" ...i listened to music for maybe about half of UVM and that is the ONLY song i remember actually hearing. haha. it always reminds me of mile 24 :)

OH I am so excited you shared this. I have been thinking about listenning to music during the marathon but my playlist is so lame and I am so so sick of it!!

My all time favorite running song is probably black eyed peas "Tonights Gonna be a good night". I have no idea why but I always think that after I finish the race I can celebrate and have a great night. ha ha

"Blackout" by Breathe Carolina...it's awesome... some of the lyrics "I'm only getting started..." "This won't stop til I say so"... very motivational for me!

Good luck Saturday.

You're proven yourself as a solid runner this year and you've earned a great race.

So give it your all.
But don't puke on your medal.
